Bringing music education to all income levels and abilities

Our Mission

Our goal is to bridge the gap between curious and serious students through our “Teach-to-Learn, Learn-to-Teach” model. Beginning students are able to receive personalized instruction while advanced students hone their skills through mentoring.

By providing accessible group and private lessons that embrace a “pay what you can” model and offering scholarships to mentors we will ensure that music education is affordable for individuals of all income levels and abilities.

  • White Crow String Works is centered around the concept of contributing to a thriving local music community through equitable access to music education.

We use a pay-what-you-can model for tuition, so that no child is kept from quality instruction.

We know that the costs associated with playing at more advanced levels can be prohibitive for many young musicians. This is why we offer our mentors the opportunity to receive scholarships to assist them in their continued music education.

As our young beginning students progress, thanks to their mentors, and become advanced students we hope to see them return as mentors to the next generation of musicians.

  • Volunteer mentors (advanced high school and/or college students) receive training from our seasoned instructors. After initial training, mentors work with beginning students in group and/or individual settings.

Mentors receive ongoing training and instruction so they are able to confidently provide high quality instruction.

This model serves advanced students by giving them opportunity to hone their own skills through teaching those skills to beginning students.
